Marina supports Sail For Juvinile Diabetes

The Pacific Gateway Marina is happy to be able to provide support for Keegan Taberner's sail around Vancouver Island.  Keegan and Carson stayed at the marina August 17th.  They are pictured here with one of the owners, Paul McFadden. The purpose of his trip is to raise awareness for juvinile diabeties, its early diagnosis and treatment.  We want to wish Keegan the best of luck on his trip.  You can find out more information about Keegans jouney at  http://www.keegantaberner.com/ .

Custom Cut – Fish Processing

Pacific Gateway Marina has partnered with the San Juan Fishing Company, located here in Port Renfrew, to offer custom cutting and packaging of your catch.  From the water, to the cleaning table to your table, preserving the freshness and quality of your fish is our number one goal.  We will take your fish from the dock to the processor where they will be cut to your specifications, vacuumed packed and immediately frozen for pick up the next morning.  We also stock styrofoam shipping boxes that are approved for air transport.  Call ahead to pre-arrange or talk to one of our friendly dock staff to take advantage of this service.

Make yours, the catch of the day!

Fresh Fish Today!

There's always something fresh happening at the Pacific Gateway Marina.  Fresh docks, fresh fuel, or just fresh ocean air.  Today's special is fresh fish.  These fellows had a great day on the water and look forward to thier next visit.  How about you, want to come for a visit and check out the fresh fish?  Try hooking up with one of the local charter operators.  Just follow the links from our site.

Location, Location, Location

What they say in the real estate business very often turns out to be true.

The same is also true for fishing.  A wise angler once said that the best place to fish is to go to where the fish are.  Today a number of the boats were looking for large spring salmon.  You guessed it………they found them.  Large fish of the day was a 31 pounder, followed by a 27 and several others in the lower 20's.

The truth is…….the fish are here in the waters off Port Renfrew.  The locals know it.  The angling guides who operate from our marina know it.  Now you know it.

Searching for that angling location, location, location?

Port Renfrew and the Pacific Gateway Marina.

Does it get any better than this?

This photo was taken on the rock bluff above the marina a couple of nights ago.  It was one of those sunny days here in the inlet and the sunset had been spectacular.  There is a lot more to Port Renfrew than just fishing.  It is a jumping off point for the West Coast Trail, used by hundreds of hikers each year.  Great fishing. There are wonderful restaurants and accomodation.  Great fishing.  Campground facilities on the beach are awaiting your arrival.  Did I mention the great fishing?

We look forward to meeting you and making your adventure last a lifetime.

June – What a month so far!

It was a good day on the water for anglers here at the Pacific Gateway Marina.  The weather was relatively calm and the sky turned into sunshine in the afternoon.  There were limits of fish, salmon and halibut, coming in and lots of smiling faces.

Time to come out and try our facilities.

More of those early season fish.

A nice 15 lb Spring is shown on the dock

June is Halibut Month at PGM

Halibut like these will keep you in fish and chips for a day or so!  There are lots of halibut coming in just about every day now.  These beauties were taken with two of our charter boat operators based in the marina, Vicious Fish Charters and Swell Time Charters.  See the fishing report link to get contact information.  You might just hit the big one like these two fellows from Victoria.  Come out and give it a try.
